FORTUM INCLUDED IN THE DOW JONES SUSTAINABILITY INDEX FOR THE SIXTH TIME
Fortum has secured its place on the global DJSI World index also this year, for
the sixth year in-a-row. This year, Fortum was also included in the Dow Jones
STOXX Sustainability Index. Fortum is the only Nordic power and heat company
included on both indexes. Dow Jones Indexes, STOXX Limited and SAM Group
announced the results of the annual review earlier today.
"Fortum has been committed to sustainability for many years. Our efforts and
results have given us many external recognitions, which we are very proud of. In
addition, our results in the marketplace substantiate that sustainability can be
a success factor also in the energy business. We are very happy to have been
re-selected as a member in the DJSI family. It shows that we continue moving in
the right direction," says Carola Teir-Lehtinen, Corporate Vice President,
Sustainability at Fortum.
Fortum has been included in the DJSI World index since 2004. DJSI World index
includes 320 leading companies from 27 countries worldwide in terms of corporate
sustainability whereas DJSI STOXX index comprises 162 leading European
companies.
Furthermore, Fortum is included in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index
(CDLI), which is comprised of 68 FT500 companies that show distinction in their
reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and implementation of climate change
strategies. Fortum is the only Nordic energy company in the index. Fortum has
also been chosen for ‘The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations' list and on
Storebrand's Best in Class report.
