Fortum Singalong Shuttle is the world’s first taxi that is paid by singing. The car keeps on moving as long as you keep on singing. The service is run on electric cars, so the passengers can enjoy the music without background noise and carbon emissions.
Fortum Singalong Shuttle was piloted by driving festival visitors at Ruisrock festival the 6-8th of July 2018 in Turku, Finland. Singalong Shuttle operated between Aurajoki riverbank and Ruisrock festival bus station during the weekend.
The drivers of Singalong Shuttle do not accept cash or credit cards - the only way to pay is to sing. Pick your song and get ready for the ride!
The developer of Singalong Shuttle, clean energy company Fortum, wants to engage its customers and the society to join the change for a cleaner world. With Singalong Shuttle Fortum wants to highlight the ease and convenience of making a clean choice by driving an electric car. Fortum’s Charge & Drive electric car charger network is the largest one in the Nordics with over 2000 charging stations across the area.
Each Fortum Singalong Shuttle car is equipped with a sound level meter that tracks the noise level of the fun and emission-free rides. The cars also have a tablet so the passengers can choose the songs they want to sing and follow the lyrics. Fortum Singalong Shuttle is run on BMW i3 electric cars.
The 49th Ruisrock Festival will be celebrated July 6-8th, 2018 at the national park of Ruissalo in Turku, Finland. Ruisrock is Finland’s oldest and Europe’s second-oldest continuously organized rock festival that attracts over 100 000 visitors each year. This year the festival lineup consists of yet another bunch of Finnish and international stars such as Pharrell Williams, The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa and Alma.
